Miraplacid Text Driver 2009
Miraplacid Text Driver 2009 extracts text from any printable documents. After installation on your PC, Miraplacid Text Driver appears as a new printer in your system. When document is printed, Miraplacid Text Driver opens a dialog with Preview Window. You can save resulting text to disk, upload to FTP or HTTP server, email it, print it to a real printer, or send to Clipboard.
You can save the extracted information as plain, formatted text or as XML or RSS feed for future processing in all installed codepages and Unicode.
Miraplacid Text Driver 2009 adds an icon to the desktop. All the documents you drag and drop to this icon will be printed behind the scenes and processed by Miraplacid Text Driver. Turn "Auto Save Mode" on to handle text extraction and processing without waiting for your input. Filenames and paths of the resulting files can be constructed using special tags: {{TERMINAL}}, {{DOCNAME}}, {{EXT}}, {{USER}}, {{MACHINE}}, {{SYSFOLDER}}, {{PAGE}}, {{IDENTITY}}, {{JOB}}, {{DATE}} or {{TIME}}. They will be replaced with appropriate values.
With "Print a copy to" option, you can print original print job to your physical printer at the time of extracting text.
You can choose between Unix(LF) and Windows(CRLF) line breaks.
You can create multiple virtual text drivers in your system, each with individual settings. If you need to save one form to disk and send the other form by email, just print one form to one virtual printer and the other - to the second virtual printer.
Version 2009 supports text printing from DOS programs.
As a developer, you may control printing process from your own software.

New in version 2009 (5.3)

  5. Text Driver monitors add/remove printer operations, so there is no need to reload it after such actions.
  6. "Redirect to printer" feature is totally rebuilt and now it works in automatic or manual modes (for use from external programs and scripts).
  7. Other software and documentation fixes made.

New in version 2008 (5.1)

  1. There was a feature to use original document name in the saved file name, but it inflexible. For your convenience, we have added tag {{DOCNAME}} into file name and path. If path does not exists yet, it will be created. File exatension now represented by {{EXT}} tag.
  2. FTP create recursive pathes on FTP server when necessary.
  3. Windows Vista Security Requirements compatibility improved.
  4. When Windows prints text document, it sometimes splits a phrase into separate chunck. Miraplacid Text Driver usually does good job gluing it back together, but sometimes it needs a little bit of fine-tuning. New version has "Whitespase size". You can adjust it to help Miraplacid Text Driver to distinguish cunked phrases from separate columns of text.
  5. Some problems fixed in software and documentation.
  6. Administrators may save "Common settings" for users who do not have their profiles yet.

New in version 2007

  1. Document printing and text extraction speed improved dramatically.
  2. 64-bit OS support added.
  3. Text formatting algorithm improved. Formatted output now looks much better than output of version 4.4 for the vast majority of source documents.
  4. User interface dialog split into two windows: big preview window and settings dialog.
  5. You can create multiple virtual printers with different text extraction and saving settings.
  6. New options in text rendering plug-ins.
  7. You can send output text by email.
  8. You can send output text to Clipboard and launch a post-processor.
  9. You can use output text as RSS feed.
  10. HTTPS scheme works in HTTP transport.
  11. Many new useful options in Pirnter transport.
  12. "Separator page" feature works now.

New in version 4.4

  1. Threading model improved. This allows you to print faster in autosave mode.
  2. MTD now uses per user settings. Each user will have his own MTD settings.
  3. COM model slightly changed.
  4. "Default" printer added to printer lists in Printer transport and redirect option.
  5. DOS text printing support added.
  6. Text repair mode provided.
  7. New date and time formats applied.
  8. Page break option added to FTP and HTTP transport plug-ins.
  9. Custom paper support added.
  10. Minor fixes made in MTD and documentation.
